Operations Associate – Trial Task: Lead Generation
This task is designed to show us how you research, make judgment calls, and organize information. Please read the instructions fully before you begin.
Deadline
Complete and submit the task within 3 days of receiving your invitation email.
Why this task
Lead generation is a practical test of attention to detail, research quality, and commercial judgment. We care more about the quality and relevance of your work than speed alone.
What you’ll do
Build a list of 100 high-quality contacts from approximately 50 relevant companies. Aim for 2–3 suitable decision-makers per company.
Use the Excel template provided above. It contains three tabs:
| Tab | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Sample | Shows examples of the expected research quality and formatting. |
| Potential_leads | A starting list of companies you may research. |
| Your Leads | Where you enter your final 100 contacts. |
What counts as a high-quality lead
Good companies
- AI startups, developer-tool companies, or closely related technology businesses.
- Active companies with a credible product, team, and current online presence.
- Companies that appear relevant to Iteration67’s services and business development work.
Not a fit
- Inactive, acquired, or clearly discontinued companies.
- Generic agencies, consultancies, or unrelated businesses.
- Companies where the available information is too weak to qualify confidently.
Good people
Prioritize founders, CEOs, COOs, heads of growth, partnerships, business development, marketing, sales, or another person who can influence a commercial partnership.
How to do it

- Find 2–3 relevant decision-makers at each selected company.
- Find a work email using tools such as Apollo or Hunter, and verify the information as carefully as you can.
